Things

just a few of my favorite things

Raindrops on roses... It came a flood at the house yesterday evening, but everthing was so green and sparkly when it was over.

I am constantly amazed at the variety God gives us. There is just so much to SEE!

yep, my yard is kind of a jungle. I like it!

Wiskers on kittens! (anyone see where I'm going with this?) This is Myla. She usually has a very sweet face, but I was holding her very most favorite toy hostage in order to get her to look at me. Hence the daggers shooting from her eyes.

AND, Momma Nell? I've set the table. And I am waiting patiently... most of the time. Prayers are always welcomed!

just some pics!

Howdy!

I know it's been awhile. This is due to my lack of owning a personal computer NOT because I don't like you or I don't have anything to say. I gots stuff to say! Lots of stuff.

Did you hear they are remaking "True Grit" ? It an old movie made in 1969 with John Wayne. Well, the new one will star Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges just to name a few. AND... portions of it are being filmed in Granger, Texas which is just about 25 minutes from me! As you can guess I just had to drive down and see the set. It is sooooo cool! It really looks like an old western town. All the building fronts have facades and the sidewalks are wooden. They even covered all the streets in dirt! I got some pretty neat pictures. And I have now decided I must own a buckboard wagon. It's like a covered wagon without the cover.

I know! It's darling, right? I could totally don a prairie bonnet and some button up boots and ride forever! I shoulda been a pioneer. Just call me Lindsey Ingalls Wilder.

I'm guessing they build the casket, line the inside with pretty paper then bury you?!

I can just imagine these being filled with salt and flour. Did you ever play Orgegon Trail when you were a kid? I always lost all my family to snake bites or dysentery. I never actually arrived in Oregon. My great-grandma Lillie had journals of her familys wagon train journey to Texas. So interesting and heartbreaking at the same time. It was HARD!

There is something about a tractor seat that says hardwork and integrity. It also says Uncle JC and pumpkins.

I luv, luv, luv the Post Office. I also love to send acutal letters with stamps and stationary and everyting.Sometimes there are even stickers! If you would like to be my pen pal just send your info in a comment! Seriously. Even if I know you and you live in the same town as me. I will send you letters! And maybe you would write back? I also love these brooms! Theres this place in Elm Mott, Texas called Homestead Heritage. They make everything. Really. Everything. I have a broom similar to this that I watched the gentleman make while I was there! There are baby chicks and sheep dogs and homemade soap and sweetpotato fries and HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! With sugar cane grown on the farm and milk from their own cows. I LOVE IT! They have a festival the weekend after Thanksgiving every year. I will be there. If you would like to come along, let me know!

Makes me want to pin my hair up and wear an apron! I think I would have like to work at the Telegraph Office.
